Rahul Mahajan punched, kicked and dragged me by hair, says wife Dimpy

Mumbai: Kolkata-based model Dimpy Ganguly has walked out of her four-month-old marriage to Rahul Mahajan, son of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, alleging domestic violence.

Dimpy had married Rahul with much fanfare on the Imagine TV reality show “Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega” in March this year.

“Rahul beat me up early on Thursday morning after waking me up to know the contents of a message that had beeped on my phone. When I asked him to go back to sleep, he flew into a rage and began hitting me. He punched, kicked and dragged me by hair,” the 22-year-old model told a TV channel.

Rahul could not be reached over phone for his comments.

This is the second time that Rahul, who was also involved in a drug abuse case, has been accused of domestic violence.

His first wife Shweta Singh, who was his childhood friend, had accused him of physically abusing her. The couple got divorced in 2008 after which Rahul participated in Colors’ reality show “Big Boss”. He continued to be in the limelight for his closeness with co-contestants Monica Bedi and Payal Rohatgi.

Incidentally, Rohatgi too has alleged harassment by Rahul, saying he has been calling her asking for a second chance.

“I just don’t want to be harassed anymore. That’s about it. I don’t want to speak to him. He is a married guy,” Rohatgi said.

Senior BJP leader Pratap Ashar, a close associate of Pramod Mahajan who was present at the live wedding function of Rahul and Dimpy, refused to be drawn into the controversy saying that he did not know anything.

Aamir Khan is only fond of his movies!

Bollywood actors usually play safe when it comes to announce their favorite films and filmmakers. But the perfectionist of Bollywood Aamir Khan does not bother to call a spade a spade. The actor and filmmaker said it very clearly that he likes only his own movies as they come with a universal appeal.

Buzz up!
According to Aamir, other filmmakers do not focus on universal appeal. He said, “My movies such as Lagaan
, Taare Zameen Par, and 3 Idiots are universal and I like them. Others do not have faith in the films which are universal and they only cater to the multiplex audience. Raju Hirani is the only director who always makes films, which have a universal appeal and caters to the non-multiplex audience also. Other filmmakers target their films for the urban audience only.”

Aamir Khan has produced a movie titled Peepli Live, which will be released next month. It is a satire on the suicides of the farmers and the following political and media response.

The actor added, “A division between India and Bharat (Hindustan) is clearly visible. I would have felt disconnected from my roots and my home in Mumbai if I were to go to Hollywood to make a career. Rural India is totally untouched by the filmmakers of today.”

Aamir will be seen playing one of the lead actors in his wife’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghaat. Informing about this role, Aamir said, it was not so easy to get the role in her movie. He added, “As a director, Kiran is extraordinary. People call me perfectionist but Kiran let me undergo an audition to decide if I suit the role and then she cast me.”

Antara Mali goes Bald!

Bald Headstart For Bold Antara?

By movietalkies

Bald is bold. And probably, beautiful and… spiritual too. Antara Mali who’d quit cinebiz post tying the marital knot in 2009, has succumbed to the lure of celluloid. And has shaved off her hair to give herself a suuuppppperrrrrrrr headstart in the business of emotions… once again!

Case in point: Amol Palekar’s ‘And Once Again’.

Reportedly, Mali who’s displayed ample flesh in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Naach’, apart from a modicum of talent, decided to opt for the tonsure and deglam look after Palekar narrated her the script of ‘And Once Again’ (Sangrila Kreations) costarring Rajat Kapoor and Rituparna Sengupta.

A reliable source gushes in a tabloid quote stating, “Antara was quite kicked about Amol’s film and loved the narration. She immediately agreed to sign up for ‘And Once Again’. And didn’t think twice about shaving her head, because her role, which is that of a female monk in Sikkim, requires it.”

Guess, RGV’s tearing his hair out now…

Khatta Meetha opened below expectations as it managed good opening only at some places and others having an average response. The first day all India average was in the 60-70% range. The reports are below the mark so it is likely to face an uphill battle from Monday onwards. Saturday may also see drops in business. Single screens in Maharashtra may fare better.

Udaan also picked up after a slow start and managed to do around 2.25 crore nett business in week one.

The English version of Hollywood film Inception did good business. Places like Bangalore were phenomenal. All versions of Inception grossed around 9 crore nett.

rate the last movie you saw

I saw this film – a clockwork orange – a 1971 classic. it was sick and disturbing in many places; but a masterpiece in movie making. exceptional direction and a great act from the lead actor. you’re left with mixed feelings for its protagonist – He evokes intense hatred but you can’t help but sympathise with him later.
The film also makes a very powerful social comment, of humans having to choose good over evil, rather than going for it without having any other choice.

all in all, a 4.5/5.
stay away if you don’t have a strong stomach.. and it isnt a joke. ladies especially!
